Atalbeitar/Alpujarras 3 Bed Townhouse
An enchanting village house of three stories, three bedrooms, a bathroom, w.c., and roof terrace, located at the edge of the village of Atalbeitar, in the heart of the la Taha region of the Alpujarras. The house, dating from 1900, has been reformed and supplied with all modern conveniences, whilst retaining very much of its traditional character, such as thick walls with niche cupboards, wood beams and slate ceilings, chestnut carpentry. The house has a total of 156 m2 built, and is located at the end of a small blind alleyway, with car parking close by. Entering the house one comes into a large front room, with a bedroom at one end, and stairs leading up to the first floor. Under the stairs is a w.c., and the front room contains a utility area with washing machine and electric hot water tank. The first floor consists of a spacious kitchen with dining area, and an adjacent living room with a fireplace with a wood burning stove, a bedroom alcove, and a small balcony overlooking the alley. A corridor leads to a high ceilinged bathroom with a full sized bath. On the top floor is another, large, bedroom with doors opening onto the south facing roof terrace, which has fine views from the edge of the village to the south. The house is in excellent condition and has double glazing. There is throughout much decorative tiling.
Atalbeitar is a tiny tranquil hamlet of 30 inhabitants, located in the beautiful verdant area of la Taha, a favoured destination for rural tourists. It is only a short distance from larger towns such as Pitres and Portugos, which have many facilites. At an altitude of 1,100 m above sea level, it enjoys, as does the well watered and leafy la Taha, cooler summers than other parts of the Alpujarra.
